Effingham County Methodist Camp Ground
Effingham County Methodist Camp Ground
Tabernacle
Constructed in 1910, the tabernacle is the center of the grounds and the activities. The open-air structure is filed with overhead fans and long wooden pews (cushioned during Camp Meeting). The tabernacle takes you back to yesteryear and allows God's spirit to move through the worship area.

Dining Hall
The dining hall (60'x45') and kitchen provide a roomy area for meals and gatherings. The dining hall can hold approximately 150 people. The kitchen area is composed of electric and gas ovens and stoves. A commercial grade fryer along with freezer and refrigeration space provide excellent cooking accommodations.

Youth Tent
The youth tent is a long building with an open foyer area separated into two sides (boys and girls). Each side has two sections of double bunk beds (48 double beds and 8 single beds total) with eight shower stalls and restroom facilities. The building is operated on four heating & air units to keep the inside cool during the hot months of summer. The building has been used to house volunteer groups like Habitat for Humanity. It is also a disaster relief site by the American Red Cross to house evacuees from natural disasters (i.e. hurricanes).

Restrooms

The grounds' restrooms are located on each side of the Campground with men and women's sides. The bathrooms also are equipped with personal showers. Other additional restrooms are located in the dining hall and youth tent.
