Effingham County Methodist Camp Ground

The 231st Annual Campmeeting is July 15-20, 2022 with the Reverend Kenny Grant preaching. Rev. Grant is known as gifted preacher and evangelist who employs a relational and story-telling approach to sharing the gospel.  Rev. Grant always has a message that is timely, encouraging, challenging, and focused on the "good news" offered to all through Jesus Christ.

Anne Finch, of New York, will serve as this years Song Leader.  As he has in the past, Chad Pace of the Springfield UMC will bring the Children's Sermons.

Join us each night at 7:30 pm for a live broadcast of the worship service.

Since 1790, the Effingham County Campground, presently located on Business Highway 21, has been the premier destination in south Georgia for Methodists to gather in honor of their Lord and Savior. This camp meeting, locally recognized as the oldest camp meeting in the United States, is held in July each year. Preaching, singing and fellowship guide the six-day long journey under the summer sun.

Along with the primary six-day fellowship event each July, the Effingham County Campground site hosts several year-round activities. From weddings, group reunions and fall festivals to activities for children such as an Easter egg hunt, the campground holds any event cloaked in a Christian atmosphere.

The Campground is operated by delegated Trustee representatives from each of the United Methodists churches in Effingham County. The Trustee body governs all activities, improvements and financial decisions.

We welcome you to Effingham County and invite you to experience the history and holiness of the Effingham Campground...a place where the heart is strangely warmed.
